The TwinPegs idea is quite simply to add an additional footpeg behind the original footpeg, placed so close to the original footpeg that the riders boot will cover both. It does not affect the operation of the gear/rear brake levers, and the additional footpeg will have the same fold-away safety functionality as the original one.

The additional footpeg gives the rider firm heel support, which enables the rider to use the leg muscles to stabilise the body, rather than relying fully on support from the upper body. Thus reducing “arm pump” and general fatigue. The pivoting of the boot around the original single footpeg, is moved to the ankle joint.

The TwinPegs kits are “bolt-on” – no modifications of the motorcycle is necessary.

With TwinPegs installed, it takes a lot less effort to maintain an efficient riding position while standing on the bike. This enables riders to ride faster further! In addition to this, it becomes much easier to quickly transfer extra weight to the rear wheel. Either for increasing traction, or lifting the front wheel through loose dirt/sand/snow. Actually, riding in a standing position on a TwinPegs equipped motorcycle, continuously adjusting the weight distribution between the front and the rear footpeg, gives the rider a pleasant ride feeling quite similar to downhill skiing.
Other benefits of the TwinPegs concept are firm support of the ankle in case of hard landings after jumps, and also the ability of safely and easily carrying an emergency passenger. For long distance road travel on an adventure motorcycle, resting the foot on two footpegs instead of one gives much more comfort.
The TwinPegs concept is patent pending, under international patent laws.
